What Parents Say

"During lockdown I approached Marjorie to better understand the sensory needs of my kids, which became obvious during those challenging times. Her knowledge, detailed plan, and support got us through a steep learning curve to better support each other as a family. As a result, we understand better what we need to do, and our child has grown in confidence, is more in tune with their body, and has learned practical skills that help at home and school."

"As a mother, I hadn't realized that my son was showing signs of hyperactivity until Marjorie mentioned that something was going on with him. I decided to listen to her, and we attended therapy sessions with her to evaluate him and create a family action plan. Thanks to her therapeutic tools, my son showed improvements in his hyperactive behavior both at home and at school. He started to be more relaxed, listened more attentively, and stopped running out of places. As a family, we learned how to handle certain situations to support his therapeutic process."

Frequently Asked Questions

What is occupational therapy?

Occupational therapy helps children develop the skills they need for daily activities and independence. It focuses on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and self-care abilities through play-based interventions.

How do I know if my child needs occupational therapy?

If your child struggles with tasks like writing, dressing, or handling sensory input, or if they have difficulty with coordination, focus, or social interactions, they might benefit from occupational therapy. A consultation can help determine if therapy would be helpful.

What happens during an occupational therapy session?

Sessions are tailored to your child's needs and typically involve play-based activities that target specific skills. We work on goals like improving handwriting, sensory processing, or self-care skills in a fun and engaging way.

How long does occupational therapy take?

The duration varies depending on your child's needs and goals. Some children make progress in a few months, while others may benefit from longer-term support. We regularly review progress and adjust the therapy plan as needed.

Do you work with schools?

Yes, I collaborate with schools to support children's development in the educational setting. This can include classroom observations, teacher consultations, and recommendations for accommodations or strategies.

How can I support my child's progress at home?

I provide parents with practical strategies and activities to reinforce therapy goals at home. Regular communication and collaboration between therapy sessions help maintain progress and support your child's development.
